"Decipher me, or I will devour you," says the enigma, the sphinx that lies on the edge of the abyss and covers itself in shadows. “Decipher me, and I will honor you with the truth," says the darkness that challenges us. Accepting it is the first step towards freedom and integrity — to become the Light that moves the Wise.

In a world where symbolism reveres the Source and the unseen, deities were created to represent these two opposing and integrated forces: Light and Darkness. Hecate, Despina, Nyx, Kali, and Morrigan are deities that represent Darkness as well as Power, Creation, and Death. Hemera, Isis, Aphrodite, Kuan Yin, and Iris are personifications of Light, Love, Spirit, Soul, and Life. In this series, Aanya illustrated the ten goddesses as a way to honor the visceral nature of the Shadow and also, the eternal splendor of the Light.
