“Message From Source” is what God looks like.

The Divine doesn’t come first from above, but from our insides.

This mini-series, “Message From Source”, was created in 2021. It is made only in graphite, and it was born from my connection with the feminine (Source). Something natural, profound, and ancient. A language that our psyche—and not our rational mind—speaks.

“The First Glimpse”. Message From Source, 2021.

We were conditioned to believe that everything sacred and divine comes from above us, from the “heavens”. That what is good is supposed to be clear, light, direct, and linear. For us to ascend to an elevated state, we need to avoid and reject our bodies and everything that is mystified by what is incomprehensible to our intellect. That which is mysterious, dark, and veiled is deemed bad, wrong, and evil. That is a poisoned condition for a human being to live by. To see their own home, their bodies, as an enemy. But this narrative is only a projection of the fearful—and cunning— Mind.

The Truth is, most of the time, quite the opposite of what our reality convinces us of. To connect with something beyond the ordinary, we need to go within and beneath fear (our heads). From below and from within, the divine manifests. Silence is the key to any phenomenon that surpasses the mundane, the noise, the explicit-the Mind. So we begin from there: Silence. Silence is dark, silence is Wise.

The Mind is fear. The Soul and its home, the body, is trust. When the mind follows the soul and the wisdom that comes from silence, we become wise, and our lives are blessed by it. The mind is an artifact, while the soul is the expression of our divine essence. And this essence is first dark, profound, atemporal. It becomes light with our connection with Spirit (the sacred fire) and later, through the mind’s eye, recognition, and understanding. The Mind needs to follow to become one with the divine. The Mind's purpose is to decode God/Source.

That is what I wanted to convey through this mini-series. To express the primordial aspects of the Divine. That is why I chose the raven as a symbol of our connection to what is beyond the rational. This bird is known, spiritually, as a messenger from the veiled realms—a wise and mystic figure. It lives in the dark, and it soars to the surface to deliver its messages. We experience the same phenomenon when we close our eyes. When we silence the mind, we can hear the soul’s language, and its language is Truth.

“The Birth of The Phoenix” Series 2020.

From darkness all Truth is born.

“The Birth of the Phoenix” series was created in 2020. It is a sub-product not only of the experiences I was having at the time, but also a life-changing perspective on life and existence as a whole. This series was born with a twin, a poem/text (read it here) on what it means to be reborn as a soul. We have not only one life, but many, if we are lucky and strong enough.

This series is a result of the inspiration I had while undergoing a profound internal and emotional work. I was having many insights into how difficult and complex our experiences as human beings can be, especially when we are immersed in a corrupted context (and most of the time, we are, but few are ready and willing to see it for what it is).

Darkness is a real thing. Here, I am not referring to the Darkness that is the Source of all, but the darkness that is the lair of all weaknesses. This is the space where the void of Life serves as a cover for ignorance, fear, and illusion. To have an experience with this nature - a nature that is corrupted and distorted - is to be challenged to grow.

I had this experience, and I accepted it for what it was. To see the face of corruption, of distortion, is not easy, especially when you are surrounded by it without knowing. It is an abrupt wake-up, the return of a sight that you weren’t aware was missing. To be surrounded by illusion in our reality is the same as functioning as a perfectly dysfunctional person. To be “functional” in this paradigm, most of the time, is to be sick.

I like to create beautiful art, but more important than this, I like to honor Truth, and sometimes Truth is not beautiful - at least not in a predetermined way. “The Birth of the Phoenix” series was born through experimentation and modifications. It started with an idea about the Greek mythology character Persephone, but she transmuted into a phoenix. I ended up doing a series on goddesses later on (and some of them are Greek), but Persephone is not there; I believe she is in here.

Truth is not conventional nor convenient. Truth is our essence, the thing that we forget we are made of. It is not hurtful, but discerning, wise, and expansive. It doesn’t appease appearances and etiquette, and for that reason, it is not popular. Nevertheless, it is Consciousness, Sacred Fire, and the only thing that the soul truly needs to be fulfilled.

The essence of all of us can be bright, but brightness (Spirit) is conquered through courage. Courage to face the fears and pains of the soul. It can be beautiful, it can be joyful, and it can be splendorous.
